For off-gas main households, according to latest Sutherland Tables, the cost of heating an average three-bedroom home with an oil condensing boiler works out at £996 pa, which is a good 31% cheaper than an equivalent LPG condensing boiler costing £1454 pa. The figures compare running costs only, and not capital costs, and LPG running costs include tank rental costs. It shows how oil costs have remained stable over recent years compared to LPG, but also helps show how using a condensing appliance can still save you up to 18% off your gas heating bill. Not yet got a condensing appliance?
